After reading one disgusting report whilst staying at the Queensmead this June, I feel that I would like to say what I think. Firstly I went to Queensmead in February 2001, and have been almost every year since, sometimes twice a year. For me, this is like going from home to home. I love the place and the staff are wonderful. Barrie the owner is so obliging. and his staff are 100% helpful. The food is delicious, and certainly not meagre in size, as someone said. You ask for what you want at breakfast, after having the starters at the breakfast bar. I sat with two friends again this year and the husband had a full English every morning. There is no way I could even tackle the amount of food given. I counted and I think there were eight different items, all beautifully cooked. You have a choice with eggs, scrambled, fried or poached, nothing is too much trouble for anyone at the hotel. All being well I shall be returning again next year, maybe twice Barrie, so watch out !!. Thanks to all who make the holiday so special. Mavis R Evans, Solihull.
As far as I am concerned, this is a beautiful place for a holiday, you couldn't wish for better food, all home cooked, and beautifully presented.
I couldn't fault anything with the Queensmead, is I did have a problem, I know Barrie or his staff, would soon put it right.

The heated outdoor pool offered a relaxing way to unwind after a long day out. Rooms are clean, with new decor enhancing the overall experience.
A few quirks stand out-like the dated room decor that needs sprucing up, which somewhat undermines the fresh feel. The shower pressure could use a boost. It was frustrating trying to get a good rinse. Parking can get tight during peak times, which may lead to a search for a spot. An odd layout in some rooms made movement a bit tricky, and not having sufficient toiletries like extra toilet rolls left me wanting more basic accommodations. Lastly, the breakfast choices were limited, especially lacking vegan options and any hot cereals, which seemed an oversight.

We stayed in the Superior Double or Twin Room for 2 nights. The room was comfy and clean, but it felt a bit dated with peeling wallpaper. It had all the basic amenities we needed like tea and coffee facilities, but the bathroom could definitely use some refreshing. The bed was pretty cozy, and we appreciated the clean towels. It was decent for the price, just needs some upgrades to match the nice vibe of the common areas.
